Profile of George Vatore (Brief Overview)

George Vatore has been a practitioner of the traditional art of Ju-Jutsu (Traditional Spelling) for the past 17 years and holds the rank of Menkyo. The word Menkyo translates to “license” meaning the permission of education for practitioners of various Japanese martial arts. The Menkyo system dates back to the 8th century. In present time a rank of Menkyo solidifies a degree of Black Belt ranging from 5th-7th Dan. The current belt colors associated with this rank are Red and White. Once you reach 7th Dan, the color Red is worn above the White. George is a 7th Dan Black Belt and has been teaching the traditional art of Ju-Jutsu for the past 12 years. In addition George began his practice in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu 5 years ago and is currently ranked a Purple belt.

George has competed in several Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments in NY and California, more recently winning the Gold Medal in the Long Island Pride tournament in 2012.

Over the years George has had the privilege of assisting in the training of law enforcement, corrections officers, security and military personnel both in the US and in Spain. Additionally, George has worked alongside law enforcement and military personnel to ensure private security for a Forbes Top 100 CEO.

George’s focus for this program is to bring self- awareness and self -confidence to each student. This program is not meant to teach MMA but meant to teach the traditional Art of Japanese Ju-Jutsu, also known as combat Ju- Jutsu. With a foundation in combat Ju- Jutsu as well teachings of Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu the class will allow the student the ability of self-defense and self-offense.
